It is not very often that the opening of a restaurant can be said to have inspired an entire movement in popular style and culture. But in 1934 in Hollywood California a man by the name of Don Beach did just that. His restaurant took its inspiration from the beautiful and mysterious islands of Polynesia, and the resulting wave of aesthetic influence became known as Tiki Culture. For the next 30 years this culture flourished and spread, and it even now it continues to be felt throughout the world. In fact, here comes some of that culture right now...
