Clown Mascot Big hair, crazy make-up, garish clothes and ridiculous shoes! But enough about the 1980s, let's talk about clowns! Opinions are divided as to why and when clowns first appeared. Some experts say it was to relieve the stress of the hunt for our Stone Age ancestors! Others claim they were a much needed distraction to the horrors of the middle ages! While some even believe it was to sell a whole load of burgers back in the sixties! Perhaps we will never know why clowns first appeared, but one thing is for sure. They're definitely here to stay!
